In a major boost to India’s growing electric mobility sector, Kia India has launched the Carens Clavis EV, the country’s most affordable 7-seater electric vehicle, with prices starting at ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks a significant step in making spacious family EVs more accessible to Indian consumers.
The Carens Clavis EV will be available in two battery configurations:
42 kWh variant offering a certified range of 404 km
51.4 kWh variant delivering up to 490 km on a single charge (ARAI-certified)
Both variants support fast charging, with a 10% to 80% top-up possible in just 39 minutes using a 100 kW DC charger.
Powered by advanced PMSM motors, the Clavis EV comes with:
99 kW (133 PS) motor in the 42 kWh version
126 kW (171 PS) motor in the 51.4 kWh variant
255 Nm torque, with 0–100 km/h in just 8.4 seconds for the larger battery model
The vehicle offers best-in-class comfort and tech, including:
Panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging
Dual-screen 26.6” display, Bose 8-speaker system, and ambient lighting
“Boss Mode” seating, air purifier with AQI display, and one-touch tumble seats
Kia has integrated Level 2 ADAS with features like:
Forward Collision Avoidance
Smart Cruise Control
Lane Keeping Assist
In addition, it offers 6 airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, 360° camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Kia’s EV infrastructure push includes:
250+ EV-ready workshops
100+ fast-charging dealerships
Access to over 11,000 public charging stations via the Kia Connect app
With support for Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and smart energy management, the Clavis EV is positioned as both a smart urban commuter and a family travel companion.
