Kia EV6 would probably continue to be a totally imported CBU vehicle in India even with the impending facelift.
It was recently disclosed that Kia intends to introduce the all-new Carnival and the EV9, two of its flagship vehicles, in India. The entirely imported EV6 is the only electric vehicle (EV) that the Korean brand currently has in its fleet in India. The Kia EV6, which debuted as a CBU in India in 2022, starts at Rs 60.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The redesigned EV6 made its world premiere earlier in May of this year. Kia now intends to introduce the revised model of the electric crossover in India shortly. Kia appears to have submitted design patent applications for the EV6 facelift in India. This suggests that a market launch in the future is quite likely.
Kia EV6 facelift: What to expect?
The EV6 facelift will begin with the appearance, with a revised front fascia featuring redesigned LED daytime running lights and a reprofiled front bumper featuring a new air dam. The style is anticipated to stay much the same on the back, with a linked LED stripe across the boot lid spoiler’s ducktail shape. It keeps the flattish roofline and low-slung attitude of the existing model. We anticipate that Kia will sell brand-new 21-inch dual-tone, star-patterned alloy wheels.
Subtle interior improvements to the EV6 are anticipated, including a 12-inch head-up display, a digital IRVM, and a redesigned dual-tone steering wheel with an offset logo. For the digital instrument console and touchscreen infotainment, Kia will continue to use the same twin 12.3-inch curved panoramic screens, though the operating system will probably be updated.
Underneath, Kia has also replaced the 77.4 kWh battery pack in the outgoing model with a larger 84 kWh unit. The upgraded EV6 will still be able to fast charge at 350kW DC, even though Kia has not yet revealed the improved range’s precise specs. This enables the model to quickly recharge in just 18 minutes, going from 10% to 80%.
There are two versions of the electric crossover available: one with a single motor with rear wheel drive, and another with two motors and all wheel drive. The dual-motor AWD grade produces 320 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque, while the single-motor version produces 225 horsepower and 350 Nm.
